Interesting Eastbay1k. My assumption based on posts up to yours was that they were letting anyone and everyone sign up, just to get the demographic information, and then would slice/dice the signed up group as necessary when they had polling questions to answer. Since you got declined though they're clearly capping some of the different types of people.

Just got invited and approved for this a moment ago. There seems to be no content at this time.

I guess Bay Area white males who apparently make too much and travel too often (that are also VX and WN flyers) are of limited use to the Community.

Cue the folks, as with the offer to roll over miles from one year to the next, "It's not fair I didn't get invited!"

I'm in a similar demographic, but I already qualified for MVPG, and also told them I have a UA CC.

Maybe they want UAers from NorCal?

In this case, I wish I had not been invited. I took the time to complete the survey, and I got the thanks-but-no-thanks message, meaning I just gave away market research data for free. They should have at least extended the initial sweepstakes eligibility to all who completed the demographic survey... This is like luring people with the proverbial carrot, then using it to poke them in the eye.

Needless to say, I wasn't targeted for this "offer" either.

But for once I don't care. Having wasted time on a similar invite from another travel provider before (filled out survey, "so sorry, we are already full"), I am not going to fall for it again.

But thanks for making Flyertalk a better place with your friendly comment. :/

The response was larger and faster than they anticipated.

You should see a welcome survey pop up in the member portal in the next couple days.

I got approved as a 24-year-old, PDX-based MVP with the AS Visa (and B6 and WN FF accounts, not that I use them). I didn't even get the email--just registered on the site.

Applied via the link as I was not an email recipient. Too many respondents in my classification so I was offered the Alternate position.

i just did the survey, and I got in. So it appears all demographic buckets have not been filled.

I'm a former 75K who did zero miles last year w/ Alaska (moved all biz over to Southwest)
