1/16/16 SEA-IAD MVP cleared transcon F upgrade at 48h, was only MVP that cleared, multiple seats still available
1/17/16 IAD-SEA MVP cleared transcon F upgrade at 42h, multiple seats still available
Even in the back of the plane, for both flights there are empty rows and lots of empty middles.
I don't think this route's gonna last if they are still this empty come 2017.
ETA: 738 swapped for 73G good thing I never pick row 4... Some of the folks in row 6 were complaining that they lost seats.

ATL-SEA
AS 749
7:00am departure
Wife and I were upgraded at 72 hours. First was full but coach was only 60% occupied. Prices have come down now that they have two flights a day between SEA and ATL.

1/18 SEA-SFO AS318. No UG.
Flight left with one open seat in F and 17 people on the waitlist. I was #2, the guy in the seat behind me was #1 and (rightfully) slightly annoyed.

1/24 AUS-PDX AS3439 MVPG upgrade at booking on 1/17
Silly question, when you get a instant upgrade at booking, anyway to see what the underlying fare class was previous to it showing "U" in F?

The flight had a delayed departure of almost an hour due to low clouds in SFO. The only reason they could possibly claim is rushing to try and get the plane out after the hold was lifted. Only problem with that rationale is the gate agent actually came on board and took forever to go to the back of the plane to verify someone was on before the boarding door closed. There was plenty of time to process the guy behind me into the open seat.
