9/20 AS440 SEA-LAX -- 2 of 7 for 1 seat (full disclosure: this was the 0900 flight; I SDCd from the 0605 flight last night, so was actually expecting to be something like 11 of 28 for at most 2 seats ... but I'm not complaining, since I was able to select 6A when I called for the SDC)

9/8 PDX-PHX 940a departure: UG @ 120 hr. Of course, the system didn't assign me a seat, so when I checked in, I was in 1A. Not sure why it didn't auto-assign a seat when the upgrade processed.

9/19 LAX-PDX 340p departure: UG @ 120 hr. No seat assigned again, but I caught it early enough to not be wedged into 1A.

9/21 PDX-LAS 9p departure: UG @ 120 hr.

9/23 EWR-SEA AS 11 Glitch (not on list despite app saying waitlisted) out of 54 for 0 seats. (Flight has been 0F for a while now.) And the flight is already delayed due to WX...fun.

9/22, AS675 DEN-SEA 6:45pm. I upfared to a cheap P fare 6-8 weeks ago as this is usually a tough upgrade. 65 on waitlist, none cleared. I saw the manifest and it appeared only two in F were MVP+, myself included.

This is interesting that there are so many on the upgrade list out of DEN recently. Wed 9/14 AS675, I was 6 out of 51. Up until recently I was always upgraded and usually at 120 window.

9/22 AS449 LAX-SEA, 32 on the list at T-60 min (I had SDCd by phone about 2 hrs earlier and wasn't among the 32) -- this was the sixth revenue flight for N263AK, which is actually a -900

9/17 AS434 PDX-LAX upgrade at window, was able to snag OLCI seat for my wife at T-24. Went out with one empty and one on the wait list. FA moved waitlist up once in the air to get out on time.

Woman across the aisle flagged down the FA right before departure with a story about her friend was reaccomdated onto this flight in coach from F on another flight. FA handled it well, I thought. Told her they'd see what they could do, emphasized contacting Customer Service to make it right, and after checking with the GA, apologized that they only had one empty F seat and they had to follow the formal upgrade policy.

9/24 AS479 LAX-SEA, another apparent upgrade at MVP window but got stuck and had to call Reservations. Snagged seat for wife at T-24 OLCI. Went out full with one on the waitlist.

9/25 flight 4/22. Number 1 on wait list out of 21, Seattle to Vegas. First checked in full (16 seats) as well as a full flight. No upgrade for me.

Any 75k's out there here's question that is always on my mind... When you book and chose to be put on the waitlist even though U space is available when you booked, do you ever wonder how most others get the upgrade?

I booked when F class was pretty much empty. Do that many, really pay for the upgrade when booking or use guest upgrades?

P fares on SEA-LAS are only $213. Pretty cheap to just outright buy the fare that gives you the F seat if you ask me.

Similar to what's happening to SEA-DEN above, I think. EUG-PDX-SEA-DEN has been about $100 OW over coach with EUG-PDX-SEA in S (50% COS bonus, sometimes catching PDX-SEA in P depending on schedule) and SEA-DEN in P (75% COS bonus, BR pass for PDX & SEA, early guaranteed F seat selection). What's not to like about that?

Yep. I don't recall what I paid on the last SEA-DEN, but I've had P fares of $169 OW.
