DL flying old QX RJs

I kind of chuckled yesterday late afternoon when taxiing out in SEA on a QX Q400 and watched a DL CRJ700 taking off (I assume on a AS/QX route) where the last two registration letters were QX. It just doesn't seem right.....

Why? QX subleased the CR7s to Atlantic Southeast or Expressjet (I can't remember which one). Both airlines are owned by Skywest, so they tend to live back on the west coast.

Are these the same birds that flew for F9, and some for a carrier in South Africa? They seem to 'get around'

Ive seen QX CR7s show up on FlightRadar24 in DL colors. You can check out these birdies histories on airfleets.net. I use it to answer such questions as "Did my QF717 fly for airTran?" No, it was a TWA bird. Or, haven't I been on N614AS like 5 times already?

602QX and 607QX went to South African Express Airways. 602 was in the F9 operations
610QX went to South African Airlink. All 3 are with SkyWest now.

No such thing as a DL CRJ700. Perhaps you were looking at one of Delta's outsourced suppliers?

Those aren't even that old yet.

Perhaps with the low fuel prices they'll bring back a couple DC9's?

The Frontier birds were 602, 609, 617, 601 and 616. All fly for Skywest in one form or another--either in DL or AS colors.
