ADK-FAI tonight?!

Anyone know why on earth AS 161 is operating ADK-FAI-ANC tonight instead of the usual ADK-ANC?

Doesn't look like FAI-ANC had any cancellations today. Cargo getting backed up, perhaps?

I've always wanted to do a same day ANC-ADK-ANC turn but only if I could get off the plan and walk around for 10 or 15 minutes. I did notice they are using a non-combi plane with first class so if you used miles for the trip, I think the distance barely qualifies for a $50 paid upgrade Of course, the mechanic would have to find somewhere else to sit

AS161 went to FAI to pickup passengers from flight 050 that diverted into FAI earlier in the day.

And the combi was still on the Fairbanks ramp about three hours ago. Left side engine cowling is propped open.

50 overflew Barrow and headed to Fairbanks.

So I take it that it was a mechanical they didn't want to have to deal with in Barrow?
