Is 1 hour& 40 minutes enough time to transit at YVR: BA to AS

YVR is a disaster for efficiency
I was through there last week with about the same amount of time. If I had checked luggage, I would have missed my flight - barely made it as it was (good thing I was in the front of the plane with a carry-on).
They make you pick up your checked bags and recheck them in a line that is/was woefully understaffed. (Didn't understand that process as it's all still within a secured area). Even with the carry-on, we had to go through another security line (again).
