SEA-SBP (San Luis Obispo) starting in April 2017

The local paper there is reporting that the SLO airport is conducting a survey of travel patrons in concert with a Pacific Northwest airline.
I can only think of one PNW airline....

That would be great!
Only US/AA flies there currently, correct?

i was just thinking about SLO/SMX the other day and now how annoying it is with the decreased frequencies with UAX cutting the E120. i'd love to see PDX-SLO on a CR700, or LAX-SLO on a Q400.

We moved up to Tacoma from the central coast and make the trip down there once a year. I am ok flying round trip into SBA and doing the drive but SEA-SBP would be a nice option.

There is zero chance AS is going to serve SLO from PDX before SEA.

Perhaps not AS/QX, but KS will fly the route out of their new PDX base.

QX SEA-SLO won't be happening. It'll be PenAir SLO-PDX if anything. PenAir has some large expansion plans for PDX.
PDX-CEC/ACV/LMT/OTH/RDD/PDT are currently in the works. PenAir has also visited other CA airports to serve from their new PDX hub.

SLO = Salem IL

SBP = San Luis Obispo CA

as much as I like the SF340 (and yes I know I'm very much an anomaly in that regard), SBP-PDX at 722 statute miles is a looooooooong trip

I read your posts about the prospect of Pen Air being the likely operator out of San Luis Obispo but I am hoping that it is Alaska doing what it did when it commenced flying out of STS. They started there with just two destinations, SEA & PDX. Lots of retirees and other folks these days who are plying the golf courses around SLO & looking to avoid the drive to an an airport like SBA or SJC.
AS could be interested in feeding their Hawaii routes out of SAN, SEA & PDX as well, given the large number of people that appear to be buying up new homes in Trilogy in Nipomo.
AS started serving MRY recently, I wonder how that is faring?

I think it's too long for the Q as well. I'd guess SEA-SBP, probably not PDX-SBP.

back in 2006 I rode a QX DH4 LAX-BOI; it's 674 sm direct, but since we had to overfly Lake Tahoe to stay out of restricted airspace around Tonopah it came in at approx 730 sm

The article doesn't say in concert with a Pacific Northwest Airline. It says with an unspecified airline which could provide service to the Pacific Northwest.

ergo: it could be DL
