Definitely an interesting quote in the article:

EAS is a subsidy program that makes it easier to run an underserved route profitably, than say something done with a community bank or local government backing. In either case, when the subsidy runs out or isn't renewed, guess what happens to air service if it cannot be profitably maintained. I wouldn't call subsidized operations to the same city a 'hub' insomuch as I would call it 'temporary'
