I was on BOS-SAN on Saturday and sat next to a nice 86 year old lady. I was helping her figure out her tablet and she said thanks "because these are not from my generation". She finally gave up and whipped out her Ipad and had no troubles. I think its a sign

Sorry I meant to say on Beyond Equipped aircraft. I assume if there isn't, that button on the tablet will just lead to a blank screen or an error. If you go into GoGo on the tablet and then navigate to the Beyond Content, it will say you need to install the plug in and the install will fail due to security policy on the device.

Can one use a standard charging cable to plug these things into the onboard sockets?

Mine crashed in the middle of a game of Mahjong.
My companion's died altogether in the middle of a movie (not battery related).
This was the first day they were using them (1/31), and they were brand new.
Figured that was about right considering they're Microsoft.

It is lighter, and h s a good stand compared to the old one. Less content. Battery may be able to be charged via the USB port on the side if the power plugs are working. Better screen.

The less content was an issue for me. Two episodes of the Big Bang theory???And musicians and songs I have never even heard of. It's better than the old product, but the content could use some tweaking.

One would think that prior to committing to this new tablet, the purchaser would have taken it out for a few test rides whereupon the battery issues would have surfaced and could have been addressed prior to unleashing the tablet on an unsuspecting public.
Are there any refunds if the battery in your unit dies after less than a couple of hours (as my seatmate's did on a flight earlier this month)? Fortunately they had an extra available for her.

I was on a 737-700 today, and there was no content available. The gogo internet was available for purchase though. Streamed a few youtube videos and for the most part, they played fine.
