The city of Detroit isn't particularly alluring, although, if you gamble, there are several Casinos (including a big one in Windsor, Canada, across the river). The majority of the population lives outside the city limits. Suburbs are very attractive. Grosse Pointe has fabulous homes. Northern suburbs, like Troy and Auburn Hills, have many luxury stores, nice hotels, great restaurants, and excellent leaf watching in Fall (including cider and maple syrup opportunities). It is surrounded by lakes, rivers, and great outdoor options. For those of us who travel there regularly, the North Terminal is a blessing. Fairly new, spotless, uncrowded, with large gate areas, it is an oasis, compared to the Delta terminal, which requires an elevated train to get from one end to the other.

Just curious, does the same crew work the turnaround on these flights? Wondering if I'll be seeing the same folks out and back.

I'd use it to visit family in GRR if the connection from SMF worked. Of course it does not so just more money in the pocket of DL or UA.

I'd use the Detroit flight to visit family in Cleveland, but AS doesn't offer that connection using Alaska.com and instead routes me through Chicago on American.

If you register for the promotion and use your Mileage Plan number (and not a SkyMiles or other FFP number) the SEA-DTW and DTW-SEA portions of the itinerary should count for double EQMs.

Oakland county and the suburbs are nice. And downtown has a certain hard luck charm (and some great BBQ!).

I'm super thrilled that it's going -- I fly SEA-DTW for work regularly and I'm SOOO over DL on that route.

If you were on the DTW-SEA flight this Saturday then the FA's on your flight are "just always great" But attracting new loyal customers is a bonus...

I find it funny that the FAs stay in Detroit longer than the passengers Do AS FAs ever turn around and work the return flight on trans cons or would that put them over the max. flying time?
