Booking AA with AS points

Do we get free checked bags on AA if we book with AS points? I have no status on AS nor AA.

it depends on what you book.

If you're booking an itinerary that would normally allow free bags ... like First Class, or some international routes, then yes.

Otherwise, no.

If you can find AA inventory for use with AS points, you've already won.

Funny, because I've booked 4 one-ways (within the U.S.). Each time they gave me 3 free checked bags and Priority AAccess. I have no status on AS and I don't even have an AAdvantage card.

Sounds like a glitch...wouldn't count on it.

Fair enough.

I've had 100% luck so far for what I've needed. (knocks on wood)

There's plenty of info here to help you develop your search skills for saver inventory on AA-operated flights.

Thanks. I think the problem is that I'm usually looking for flights to LHR for mileage bookings and it always pushes me towards BA flights.

With MP being down a week next month it would be nice to add a search function by carrier as an option (when looking @ a month long calendar)

The MP database has nothing to do with search functions on AS.com.

Ok

Thought maybe some backend work on AS' website might be done concurrently.

At least this would be a feature I'd like to see sometime ^
