It won't provide power to a power strip, or so they tell us. The outlets on Alaska planes also have USB and regular outlet at each seat.

And every seat has power too ^ so if a neighbor isn't using theirs, perhaps inquire if they'd be willing to let you charge. If multiple usb devices, consider charging off a plugged in laptop.

Not on AS, but I've tried on a couple of other airlines and it always trips the circuit breaker. While usually it resets after a couple of minutes, I've had it knock it out for the remainder of the flight. That's not good.

I've just boarded my first 737-700 flight ever (PDX-ORD). I've taken seat power as a given on AS- kind of surprised at the lack of it (and the worn condition of the aircraft's interior- but that's another matter). Of course the one flight I really need it I don't have it.
