It won't provide power to a power strip, or so they tell us. The outlets on Alaska planes also have USB and regular outlet at each seat.

And every seat has power too ^ so if a neighbor isn't using theirs, perhaps inquire if they'd be willing to let you charge. If multiple usb devices, consider charging off a plugged in laptop.

Not on AS, but I've tried on a couple of other airlines and it always trips the circuit breaker. While usually it resets after a couple of minutes, I've had it knock it out for the remainder of the flight. That's not good.

I tested my Monster 4 outlet mini-strip today, which worked fine for powering a tablet and a phone at the same time.

Do any Alaska 737-700s have at seat power? I recall reading that they originally weren't going to be retrofitted but then they changed their minds. Is that the case?

Nothing yet, but supposedly they're being updated "soon." Whatever that means.

Yes. All 800s and 900s have power. Those are "N" numbers in the 300s, 400s and 500s.

I've just boarded my first 737-700 flight ever (PDX-ORD). I've taken seat power as a given on AS- kind of surprised at the lack of it (and the worn condition of the aircraft's interior- but that's another matter). Of course the one flight I really need it I don't have it.
