To try to make sense of what's all happening between AS and DL, the idea arose during the recent Alaska do to create a compendium in the wiki of the various stages of the current spat. Please add your knowledge where you can!

Well, I would urge you to consider the politics and potential repercussions of your decisions. F is nice but bear in mind:
1. DL is putting on a show for you. It's unlikely to last. Like dating versus marriage.
2. If AS is damaged by the DL rivalry in Seattle it's bad for the entire flying public.
3. In the (IMO unlikely) event that AS is absorbed by DL, imagine how DL fares and service quality would then change... and you wouldn't like it.

And as far as point 3 goes, I would suppose that fares and service would return to current AS levels. So I'll enjoy the show while I can.

this "show" Delta is putting on -- that is for more than just Alaska. it's a show against American and United... so don't give Alaska all this credit!
Or do we thank Alaska Airlines for my full PDB MCI-ATL the other day?

DL doesn't always offer great meals. Here is a recent DL meal on a 3.5 hour international flight ATL-SDQ. Not my meal as an FYI...was recently posted on their meal thread. Although I have had this exact sandwich as a meal on DL before:

But I'll bet you still had a welcome aboard cocktail. And the snack basket. And probably even a pillow and blanket.

That's about what the afternoon ANC-SEA in AS F will get you. Well, except without the fruit. Or chips. Or salt and pepper shakers. We'll call the DL pickle and lemon bar to the AS slaw and cookie a draw.

getting warmer !! Look at the end of the day does a pillow or blanket make it for you, then fly DL if your looking for a long term relationship then AS is a much better deal especially for us in the NW / AK
For a long time experience DL will not keep this up. Zebra's don't change their stripes

LOL and I agree. One does not fly AS for a culinary experience. I once complained to AS about the poor quality of the food asking saying that I just buy food from the main cabin to which they said to me well that's not right we're "Losing money" on your food and your taking away from main cabin selection.!! I could not believe it heard that ( they called) I am a diabetic and love the fruit and cheese tray for long haul. And buy it all the time,
Not quite sure where AS is coming from with FS. I have no problem buying food from the back in many cases it's actually good. For airline food. Moral is never get on a plane hungry.
As for DL's food offering it's not bad I agree. Maybe just maybe AS will do something

It is true that the AS F offerings are often really challenging for diabetics. A lot of starch and carbs. Down the back you can have the cheese plate, the beef jerky, or some of the stuff in the tapas box. That's about it.
