Buying miles 40% bonus question

I purchased four (4) blocks of 40,000 miles + 16,000 bonus miles. I wanted to purchase two (2) more blocks but the system wouldn't let me. I called customer service and they don't know why it would work. Has anyone else had this problem before? Thanks

I don't know of any purchase limitations, you may be triggering a dupe or fraud alert with either points.com or your credit card. Did you try a different card?

some credit cards trigger automatic blocks when duplicate or excessive transactions are made for the exact same things and amounts in a short amount of time

I am getting:
The Mileage Plan account you specified is not eligible to purchase miles.

So it seems the points.com purchasing system is having a little problem. :-(

That was the problem and my other purchases went through. Now I have enough miles for two F and two J tickets on CX to BKK!

if the account belongs to a minor or is newly opened, then that could be the barrier

Not for me. I just spent < $9,500 for 2 J class tickets & 2 F tickets on CX to BKK. That's a pretty good deal for me. In 2011 when I went to BKK for my son's wedding the 2 J tickets on UA cost me $8,000.

Are there any such limitations if purchasing on the Alaska Air website ?

I couldn't answer that; I've never tied to buy a bajillion AS miles at one time to challenge the limits of what could be bought. In fact, I've never bought AS miles; I actually fly them to get my miles.
