Just Completed SEA-HNL-BLI-SEA MR!

Last night I hopped AS859 to HNL, was in the terminal for 20 mins then boarded AS898 back to BLI and Horizon back to SEA. Got FC upgrade on the HNL-BLI leg -- 2 Sominex and a SBUX muffin and I was out cold the entire flight. 5,500 miles done! One more next week and I've got my MVPG for 2013!

Years ago, I did an MR SEA - MCO - SEA where I re-boarded the exact same aircraft. I was actually paged to the desk, where the agents admitted it was because they wanted to meet someone with a TANGO itinerary!

Tango? I didn't know we were famous

Congrats on UG's but to be 'out cold' seems to let FA's down

I will be doing a SEA-STL-SEA MR here very soon and it is the exact same aircraft as well... there is a 50 minute layover so I'll deplane, and then I'm sure about 20 minutes later I'll reboard

Don't mind me asking... But I haven't stuck around long enough to know what a TANGO itinerary is?

Apparently, neither have I...Google results all point to EZE when you search that phrase.

Yeah, what is a "TANGO" Itinerary? Very curious!

I flew N514AS SEA-HNL last night, and it was N585AS for the HNL-BLI.

Alaska's system didn't seem to like that I had the immediate return, because it wouldn't let me check-in online either flight -- it directed me to the ticket counter. Had to get an agent issued flight coupon and boarding pass at HNL.

Sounds like something I might have to do...

cant figure it out either. Turn and Go? Touch and Go? Maybe some insider employee jargon

I only ever done same plane quick turns between FAI and ANC and the FAs and GAs dont seem that surprised or weirded out about it there. When Ive gone to SEA and turned right around its always been different A/C and crews

Never had a problem printing return BPs at home either

ANC, I think you nailed it. See this: http://www.airliners.net/aviation-fo....main/1401448/

"TANGO" is apparently what Alaska refers to internally as their aircraft "Turn ANd GO" (aka turaround) process.

Nice one!

Incidentally, the GA at HNL last night mentioned that he's been seeing quite a few folks doing ANC-HNL MRs the past few weeks.

Google "EZE airport code" -- that's what I do whenever I encounter an airport code I don't know. EZE is Buenos Aires. (Hence the tango reference.)

I've done a few TANGOs in my time, but never an immediate turn with the same aircraft and same crew. I've overnighted with a plane and crew before (Hawaii and DCA), and I've done a transcon TANGO with the same plane but a different crew (I don't think a crew can legally fly a SEA-MIA-SEA turn).

Here's one for you: have you ever flown somewhere, slept overnight, and then gotten back into the exact same seat on the exact same aircraft headed to a different destination? Yes? That's not odd for an FTer doing a MR, you say? Well, how about if the bed you slept in was your own? That's what I've done twice in the last week and will do once again here in about 5 hours.

I must have gotten old and bitter (and have lifetime status). How unappealing!

Same here in about two weeks. It was a pretty good deal, $100 each way. I have done weekend or overnight mileage runs for fun.. Never same do, so it will be a first.

Best part is- this Will put me at 75,058 for 2012, after 10 years of Gold, will finally get 75k.

Alaska has treated me pretty damn well.
