I am about to take my first DL flights as an MVP (previously was FO). I just checked in, saw that my upgrades are requested, but I don't see anywhere what my spot is on the waitlist. Is that a bad sign, or am I just missing a button somewhere?

I thought upgrade rankings only become public knowledge at the airport on the day of flight?

Note that it doesn't particularly matter what the list says this early. Delta's list is only based on people who have already checked in and have an upgrade requested, not based on everyone who has upgrade requested for the flight, so even if the list says #1 of 1 at 24 hours out, it could become #20 of 20 at the gate.

Good to know. I thought I went back after checking in and still didn't see anything, but now a moot point as I had to change my flights to a red-eye (and different airlines).

I coudl never get it to work. It would only show a tab for one segment or sometimes i get 10 tabs for the same segment. Its best just to check at teh gate display

There have been some posts a few months ago about the success of SDC on Delta flights. Is this an actual benefit for MVP/G's? Anyone have luck recently?

I don't believe it is an actual documented benefit, but I have been one of those that has asserted it as such with agents on the phone and gotten them to do it.

Delta Economy Comfort
Add Delta's new Economy Comfort as a benefit for Alaska MVP/G/75K. There's been a fair amount of discussion on the Delta forum about whether it's a real benefit or just revenue enhancement (especially for non PM/DM medallions). After I purchased my economy fare for a TATL trip later this summer, I checked out the EC page and it automatically showed the the 50% discount that gold medallions get (or $40 OW from ATL instead of $80). Early reports have generally been good with extra recline, leg room and free liquor. Perfect for an overnight flight in the "main cabin". Now, if I can just get upgraded on the SEA-ATL leg . . .

Expansion of DL Economy Comfort to Domestic Aircraft
http://news.delta.com/index.php?s=43&item=1476
Free for DL Golds and up.
50% off for DL Silvers.
Didn't see any discussion on where AS elites might fall into the equation. Does anybody know yet?

If we are excluded then it will severely devalue AS membership for me since I am deaf and exit rows are not an option. So, at least being able to get a seat in the first few rows is nice [considering upgrades are tough for us on DL], but now with domestic EC, if it excludes AS elites, then chances are good I will be stuck behind the exit row on a regular basis then DL will not be attractive for me anymore.

The press release does mention that DL Silver gets 50% off advance purchase, or free at checkin. If this turned into a consistent upgrade for AS elites, I would be much happier on my DL flights. F upgrades are a nice surprise when they happen but they don't clear often enough for me to count it is a real benefit.
