I just checked TPA-MKE and the fares don't look any different compared to the past few days, still at $167. (I know there's a cheaper non-stop option but I'm looking to fly through ATL just for the fun of it )

Just when I thought the FT people were smart... What's your ATL draw? Popeye's, the smoking rooms or something else?
IMO Always take the direct to avoid possibility of compounding delays.

These one day fare sales are interesting. In the past, it usually took DL a day to match FL's fare sales. Perhaps this is their strategy to keep those bargain-hunters on FL.

Of course for a sale to gain real traction on the FL side, I'm sure it has to last longer than a day.
