Final Flight #1 12-28-2014

Listening in on LiveATC, Tampa approach kept referring to the flight as "Citrus 1" but was corrected by the FO who reminded them the flight was officially filed as "Critter 1".

Someone has compiled that all here

The 180 center in ATL was for the water cannon salute.

Interesting that the crew reverted to their J7 roots for the final flight.

Goodbye Museair, Critter, Wasatch, Amtran, and now Citrus. You're all Southwest now. :-:

Appears to have been removed from YouTube as of the morning of 12-30-2014.

Joe, I didn't know You were even going to be on the flight or I would have welcomed You and thanked YOU for your help and Airtran travel.

I'm pretty sure Southwest will want to keep You when hearing the full story.

Who knows maybe they might even call You to DAL?

IMO a real BC is something WN could monetize way better than BS or six extra seats they added per aircraft.

Captain of Airtran 1 was a J7 pilot. Many of the crew were former J7 as well. (while a few non-rev bookings existed this might actually enter the record books as most profitable FL flight ever flown per seat mile as fares were not low at any point)

You have to admit Airtran grew up a lot from it's J7 roots. To one of the safest, most on-time and better at bags despite the rapid growth.

I'd love to see Southwest match Airtran's AQR record.
