What I discovered yesterday:
Someone removed Row 13 from the 717 on my flight from ATL-JAX. I guess that row 13 has been removed throughout the fleet. Need to pay closer attention as I have never really noticed this before. Assumption is that Row 13 has been removed from the 73g's also.

LOL It took this long? When was the last time you had a hotel room numbered 13? Or an elevator that had a 13 button. Superstition!
PS there's no row 4-9 either

This is probably one of the funniest posts I have ever seen on FT.

4-9 is an old story.
I have been on many many many FL aircraft and I have never noticed the absence of Row 13. I am sure that the problem is a lack of attention on my part. The wife and I were in Row 15 and something didn't look right when we were only 4 rows behind the curtain. That's when I noticed the deficit.

They can
I will put it on my list of things to do
Are you sure that this wasn't a WN inspired cost saving measure?
BTW, I don't think that Boeing had anything to do with it. The carrier can assign row numbers upon delivery.

What I learned yesterday:
The FL 722 ATL-LAX crew only offers one beverage service over 4.8 hours. The FAs explained to us that LAX does not re-cater the plane and they're afraid they'll run out of beverages on their quick turn-around back east.
They said this was a relatively new circumstance owing to AirTran now operating from Terminal 1.

Row 13
This is not at all a new development. I've been flying AirTran pretty heavily since late 2009, and I distinctly remember early in that period noticing that the planes (at least the 71s) have no row 13. Seemed a little odd, but it amused me a little.

It used to be quite common in the age before computers to not have a row 13...then they started showing up on aircraft (and 13th floors in buildings). But I noticed last year my KLM flights are missing row 13...I found it nostalgic and maybe a nod to a higher power.

I tried deliberately booking row 13 for a while to see if it helped me get a row to myself. It didn't.
I think CO also did not have row 13. The new UA seatmaps don't have row 13 either, though this is mostly due to them skipping row numbers to keep certain rows (exit rows, bulkheads) the same number on different aircraft.
