It is landside, just before the barrier that leads to the checkin desks (where there's a cop checking your ticket before letting you through - after the first cop at the terminal entrance checks your ticket).
Resto-bar type setup, fruit juice / danish pastry / chicken sausage in half croissants .. and I think they had hot south indian dishes (pongal / vada) coming up - this was damned early in the morning, like 4:30 AM.
Nice comfy leather chairs, mood lighting .. altogether a lot more pleasant place than the dingy 1st floor "port lounge" airport restaurant.
This resto bar had a "lounge & bar" sign at the door, with the "& bar" carefully taped over so they probably dont have a booze license just yet, or they finally discovered that domestic airports are dry in India ..
