Was at SFO this past Monday and inside the International Terminal "A" concourse near gate A5, there's a large sign on the wall (light purple background with white lettering) that said something like "Coming Soon India Non-Stop" -- "and a brand new comfortable lounge" and below that "Kingfisher Airlines." The sign was obviously placed there by the airport authority as it had their logo on it.
I'd be thrilled if they join Skyteam( I am rooting for Gold on DL this year and for the first time:-) - just hope they have convenient connections to major cities for connecting with the SFO-BLR flight - especially PNQ
Oh and let's not hold our breaths on this one - I will believe it when I see an IT A340 parked at SFO..
If PNQ is your final destination, Instead of changing planes in India, you are better off flying Lufty, SFO- FRA, FRA - PNQ.
KF is in the process of getting approval for flying internationally, the clearance from DGCA is still pending. After getting clearance the first flights will be to LHR, SIN & HKG. US flights are not right now in the picture and even if they start it will be a one stop service through AMS.

That sounds like a more cautious and modest approach than the much hyped nonstop flights to SFO and JFK. I wonder if coordinating their fights with NW/KLM is in consideration.
Any rumpours about their SIN schedule?

You misunderstood my comment. Consequently, your response is unrelated to the question posed. The question related to using AMS as a stop instead of LHR, not deciding on one stop flights instead of nonstops.
Cost of carrying the fuel on ULHs was precisely the reason I felt BLR-SFO nonstop wasn't a good idea. But the faithful folks were sold on it.

So do you claim that IT's association with NW/CO/KLM and the possibility of marketing other European destinations via AMS has nothing to do with selecting AMS as the stop for their onestop flights to the U.S.? If cost was the only factor there are other airports with cheaper slots than AMS.
A wink does not lend any more credibility to your post than your words.

So yeah, AMS starts to look very logical.
With Jet Airways showing no inclination to jump on to SkyTeam and Air India leaning towards Star Alliance, at the time of the deal, striking a deal with Kingfisher was not a bad move.

So where are they? Where is King Fisher at SFO. I don't see how they could ever do this with the gas sucker A340-500. Well they can do it, anyone could, but will they make a profit?
Seems they are leading SFO and the city on a wish chase with no follow up
