Does Neighbor-Free seating combine with XL?

Does Neighbor-Free seating combine with XL?
I purchased an XL seat for a flight from DUS-MIA for me and a companion, and I was wondering if we were to bid on a "Neighbor-Free" row (4-seat center section on A330), if we would be put in a row with XL seating, or if it would be a standard economy row. Also, if it is a standard row, would the XL seat charges be refunded?

If you make a bid and get as far as the payment information, it says this (couldn't find it in any other T&Cs):
The Neighbor-Free product cannot be combined with an XL Seat reservation. In case you purchased an XL Seat reservation, we cannot accept your Neighbor Free bid.
