Why can't any of you go to the respective carrier's website and find out on your own but instead expect others to do it for you? This information is readily available for everyone and is certainly not hidden.

In theory, you're right, ofcourse.

But this is a COMMUNITY, and a community can only thrive, and continue to do so, on the continued fast and wide exchange of information, between people enthusiastic about giving and acquiring back knowledge. The reason why people ask these questions is usually because they have, one way or another, a hard time finding the information on their own. It might be language barriers, time constraints, or just plain and simple lazyness (we're all lazy sometimes), anything really, it doesn't matter. If you, or I, know the answer (or where to find it) to what's being asked on the top of our heads, then it should take us so incredibly little to provide a quick and friendly reply, because we all will appreciate the same at some point when we ourselves are stuck. That's what the biggest frequent flyer forum in the world is all about, and that's what made it what it is today. Chastising people with less knowledge than yourself is certainly a direct, non-stop route to ultimately destroying the very fabric of this community.
