US access to airberlin website when redeeming miles
It's my first time redeeming topbonus miles (even though I've ascended to Silver!), and one thing that frustrated me was when trying to redeem my miles via the US/English site and getting quoted in US$ for the mandatory taxes and surcharges. Got error message. So I figured go to the Deutschland/English platform and got quoted in Euros. Worked fine, but of course my bank charged me a foreign transaction fee.
Again, this is my first time on topbonus and I don't know if this issue had ever been discussed among US-based passengers. Let me know your thoughts.
