extra legroom in front cabin of a330?

Hi,

I have an a330 sector next week pmi-str. The front cabin shows 9 rows as opposed to seatmaps that suggest 12.

Are these seats a bigger pitch or is the plane just configured differently?

Assuming it is a pitch thing, can I get in there by virtue of my ba silver card, can I get the rest of my party in there, or do I have to pay a supplement?

Thanks

I was on a 330 from PMI - IBZ a few weeks ago and in the front (seat 4D) and they didn't seem any bigger. Also note that on that plane there was no center isle overhead bins. It was all open and the only overhead bins were on the edge of the plane. Luckily it wasn't very full and I didn't have any carry on that wouldn't fit under the seat.

Well, the call centre tell me seats have been assigned for us together and looking at expertflyer, the only block of 5 is in row 2.

I guess we'll find out soon enough!

mcdade did your plane have 9 or 12 rows in the front cabin?

AB operates one A330-200 and two or three A330-300 in all-Economy configuration, however only seatmaps for the latter are published.

Well, this blows

What I believe were our assigned seats in row 2 have now morphed into seats in row 42. With the seatmap under airport control there's nothing airberlin can do about it, and because it's a BA ticket we can't self-select seats on the AB element of the connection.

Oh, and the flight's full.

Ho hum....

p.s ZKOKA - thanks for the explanation.

I was just on it again last week from PMI - IBZ, I'm pretty sure it had 12 rows, and I think row 1 doesn't exist for the middle row so row 2 is the bulkhead but i'm not 100% sure on this. Again no over head middle bins but this time it was pretty empty so we all were able to move seats to empty ones in the end as well.

how did it work out for you SwissTony?
