Tell me about AB

Hello, Airberliners,

I am now seeing AirBerlin as a Oneworld partner out of SFO to DUS.

This is my first experience with AB. This year, I'd like to fly SFO-FRA-WAW-SFO using AA miles.

To those of you with experience:
Is this possible?
Is it desirable?
What can you say about the AB product?

Thanks!

I don't think there is a direct flight to FRA with AB. And in Poland they connect only Krakow and Gdansk.

Your selected route will be a problem. Maybe BA can offer you SFO-LHR-WAW.

My experience is that most *A flyer often rant about AB. My personal experience is positive. The european product is OK but there is no continental C. At the moment they are renewing their long-haul cabin with new seats in C and Y. The C-Seats are similar to the old Swiss seats.

I am sure there are better products but it also could be worse.

They are not worse than e.g. Lufthansa. (At least since the installation of NEK.)

And maybe you experienced the 738. Their pitch is about 3 inches smaller than the Airbus fleet.
