Domestic Connections

Ive got a domestic connection in a few weeks, well 80mins on the ground in CHC. Its all one on ticket, but I'm worried if the flight is late will staff give me a problem re-booking? because I'm just flying for the status credits & the fun of it.

Anyone else every connected from NZ525 to NZ524, if so is it the same aircarft both ways?

After all 24 status credits for $28 didnt seem like such a bad deal

Thanks.

33cents a SC is very good

I wonder when the first person will be to get to gold with only traveling in GAS.

It was $14 each way, it was one of the GAS from when they did the votes on J*s launch week.

I should have brought more at the time could have gone to CHC a couple of times for $100.

If i get Silver in September does it run out on 31/12/09?

Well, if Gold requires 900SC, then GAS at $0.33/SC is a great way to go - but I guess most GAS are more like $40 (say on average) for 12SC, so a less satisfying rate of $3.33/SC - so you'd make Gold by spending $NZ 3,000. Not a bad way to go I guess...

Cheers, TK

not too bad, unless the contractor cuts the power cable to the terminal, as happened late last week..... and then it could be quite a line.

Wouldn't mind if my flight got delayed by 5hours, I'd spend the time doing some spotting up stairs. The out door deck is it still there?

Yeah I've been snapping up a lot of grabaseat fares for the points (and also getting to look around different places in New Zealand) and I'm hoping that I can get Gold status. I only wish I had decided to challenge for Gold earlier in the year, I have to average about 100 points a month to do it. I have until December 28 to get 900 points, and so far have 486 points either travelled or yet to travel up to September 12th.

80 minutes is plenty, MCT at CHC is 20 minutes.

I haven't checked the schedule but not likely to be same a/c - most 737 turns are in 30-60 minute range.

Status is for a year (slightly over for the first time), based on anniversary of attaining status.

For those interested in GAS status runs the $1 & $2 fares are good Of course very slow way to get status.

Thanks for the info.

It would be funny to get Gold on all GAS "F" class fares.

Some of the cheap SYD deals lately have been a good way to get 60more status points

Welcome to FT Shazzadude!

I've picked up some excellent GAS fares as well. $10 flights DUD-WLG and vv and $25 flights DUD-CHC vv as well. Haven't been as many middle of the road GAS fares lately. Either really cheap ($6) and get snapped up fast or the fares are only $5-10 cheaper than standard Smart Savers.

What do you expect NZ_Flyer? Smart Saver fares are generally lower than they were 2-3 years ago.
