That's definitely what it is - but when fares can go from days of $189 back to $49 and then change multiple times in a day both up and down it's quite annoying.

I had actually looked on JQ for $35 when NZ was $189 just got a laugh but ended up booking NZ for $49 on the day as it was worth it to get another 2 hours work done before having to leave CHC.

Yes, different markets, different prices.

I recently saw a promotional fare of EUR1200 for Stockholm/Auckland/Stockholm return in business class on Qatar. That's about NZ$1950.

Cheapest fare the other way round on Qatar, ex Auckland - about NZ$6000.
