Silver RU or One Up

Can any of you knowledgeable people tell me which is more likely to be awarded a Silver RU or a One Up from Economy to Premium Economy? Travelling Auck to London.

Recognition upgrades apparently have priority over OneUp.

One other point - AKL - LHR will probably be considered as two sectors so one RU wouldn't upgrade whole way in that case.

Yes, I know its 2 sectors, just trying to work out which one to request for which.

RU and good luck! That is a very busy route. Browsing the one up thread, success rate is very few and far between

this is the hardest route to upgrade into premium cabins

Yeah my hit rate is 4 out of 12 on that route in the last couple of years (hits were all RU from PE to BP, others were all Economy to PE with RU and Elite dollar upgrades)

RU has priority over OneUp. You could apply your RU to the first sector then put in a OneUp (or ask an Elite family member of friend to request an Elite APD upgrade) for the second sector. If the RU doesn't clear and OneUp gets declined you could try and apply the RU to the second sector.
