Empty flight and rescheduled return

Flew AKL-HND on the 2nd August on a 787-9. There were 27 pax on board. My upgrades cleared on this one no sweat!

My return was due to leave at 1am 10th August but has been delayed by close to 3 hours. In turn this will mean we miss our AKL-DUD connection and having to stay the night in Auckland. Will be interesting to see how full the return is and hopefully AirNZ put us up for the night!

FA suggested they're looking at a later departure from AKL to make better domestic connections in the future.

Yup!

6 in J
4 in Y+
17 in Y

Good crew to passenger ratio. Was a really fun flight!

Hmmm, I am looking at 772 PE in Mid-Jan ICN-HND-AKL as an alternative to TG angle-flat J 772ER ICN-BKK-AKL for a return to NZ. Saves quite a few $$ as well. And then I see TG are scheduling a new 787-9 with a 1-2-1 J config.......

16 Nov 2017 is the start day for Thai 789. It actually looks GOOD!

Noted thanks, and have had an alert from TG as our seats were changed.
Looks to be a reverse herringbone like Cathay Pacific. Will probably stay with it.

I booked a flight in J on Dec 27th which was supposed to be the 789. Now it is showing as a 777. I haven't heard anything about a change, does anyone know what is going on?

Potentially something as simple as stronger demand from from tour groups (who make up the vast majority of seats to Jspan) buying premium s

At this stage Asian 789's will still be the high density config after the low density ones arrive later this year.
