789 PE or 767 J

Have an option in April of the 787-9 in PE from PER to AKL or the 767 J PER to CHC, have flown 767 J multiple times but never PE on the 789.
Price difference will be about $265nzd P/P (booking econ for either option and using elite airpoints upgrades, relevant booking classes are available)
Any thoughts from people that have flown both to which option they would prefer??
Arrival airport is no issue as we will have to get back to DUD anyways,so just the thoughts of comfort and service(will have an infant as well)

Haven't had a chance to get on the 789 in PE yet.

Personally I would go for Business on the 763, it has about 8" more leg room & better onboard service than PE.

I've never had a 772 on the PER-AKL route(lived there for 5 years, moved back to NZ 3 years ago, so before they put a 772 on that route) always had the 767 so well used to it,(i don't mind the 772 PE seats if it's a day flight)

We will be on the 787 on the way over in J booked thro VA for the "pricely " sum of $600nzd each so we get to try that aircrafts J seats for not much more than econ

Looking like PER-CHC on the 767 is the way we will be coming home

789 PE or 767 J

Definitely 767 J. Legroom and service are better, and more than make up for the tired cabin and seats.

Well NZ108 (763 service) just got down-gauged to an a320 (due to irrops), so either way its a crapshoot.

767 J gets my vote. Cabin and seats are a bit tired but the space and service makes up for it.

Quick update.
Took the advise here onboard and grabbed the PER-CHC direct in J. Booked seat only and used elite dollars upgrades, confirmed straight away.
Thanks to everyone for their input.
