Baggage Allowance on Partner Award Ticket for Domestic Flight

Searched and found this thread, but it doesn't seem to answer the question.

Can someone advise as to the baggage allowance on a partner award ticket for a domestic flight? I.e. is it booked in the "seat" fare, or the "seat+bag" fare?

Would it make a difference if booked via a alliance partner (e.g. UA) or a non-alliance partner (e.g. VS)?

What is the routing?

More importantly, what allowance does your e-ticket indicate?

I didn't know the specific domestic routing mattered, but it's AKL - CHC.

Don't yet have a ticket. Am debating between booking award or paying cash.

If it were an international routing with different airlines then it can matter.

So if just an AKL-CHC booking then in that case I cannot answer you.

What Partner airline are you hoping to redeem with?

NZ's commitment to *A before Seats 2 Suit was offering standard economy fare so you will likely get Seat + Bag product. VA use the same inventory so it will be applicable to VA redemption as well.

I'd likely redeem with VS.

That's great news. Thanks.

As above, I'd like to redeem with VS (especially now with the 35% AmEx MR bonus).

Is it worth using an reward for a flight that typically sells for $69NZD? (or $59 without bag)

With the 35% bonus, it's nearly a toss-up, and, well, since I have more miles than I know what to do with, it seems like a viable option.

Though, all that said, with the likely pain of redeeming through VS, it may just be more efficient to shell out some cash.

if you book cash, make sure you use the NZ site (airnz.co.nz) this will open up fare buckets not sold outside of NZ.
