(I'm connecting from WLG, but have a silver upgrade to burn before I make the drop of shame back to roach status...)
Am I right in thinking that there will be an second 789 in service by then? and an third by November?

What other routes is the 787-9 going to do except AKL-SYD-AKL which it is currently doing every day?

Are seat maps the way to pick a 789 sub akl-Syd?
I am heading out mid september for an overnight (18/19 Sept) but no 103 available on the outbound.

Just wondering what route it has when there is no 103/104?

Posted elsewhere with the caveat subject to change. You can currently have faith in the info

I highly doubt it'll still be on 103/4 then. PER flights are starting early too. But they still have 2 then and I would think the other would continue to fly 101/2/5/8. I would wait till a bit closer to the time myself.

Probably wise! I ended up just booking the nonstop WLG-SYD, as the fare sale ending today allowed useful discounts on the nonstops, and the thought of going out of my way just to possibly wind up on the awful old 763 gave me the heebie-jeebies.

787-9 Perth flights will be starting 12th Sept. 787-9 akl-syd will continue through Sept + Oct. Both for crew training purposes.

I can confirm the 12th September date for the first AKL-PER-AKL. Air NZ have contacted me and changed my flight to two weeks today. they rightly predicted I had specifically chosen the flight to be on the inaugural...so a ^ for their proactive response to moving the flight and contacting pax.
Looking forward to it as I have BizPrem both directions and a whole 3hours turnaround now (2.20pm-6.10pm and 9.15pm-7am-ish)
