Freddie Awards for UE/Africa [merged]

Results from the Freddie awards are out and it seems that for Europe, Flying Blue was voted the Airline of the Year award in Europe.. what happened here?http://freddieawards.com/

Also Airline Best Elite program in Europe!

Did all other programs suddenly vanish from Europe during the voting session.. or were the voters all high on weed sponsored by AF-KLM

Flying Blue is not an airline; FB is the IATA code for Bulgaria Air. So Bulgaria Air won airline of the year? Sounds far more plausible!!!

Maybe it should be Bulgaria Air (I've only flown once with them, but it was very pleasant), but Flying Blue actually won the airline program of the year and the elite program of the year. If you read the short summary, they praise the extra award availability for elites... Yeah, right. About time to do so.

What a stupid joke. If they are into second (or is it twenty-seventh?) degree humour, maybe they should also vote Ryanair best luxury airline of the year

I think the problem about the Freddies is that you are rather forced into voting 2nd choices(if i recall correctly) and can't abstain .Therefore by default of sheer size AF-KL is bound to do well whereas the smaller more niche(invariably better) airlines come a cropper .

I cant' be agree with what all of you says, not only I think FB did great effort in 2012 but thanks to their new rule (to be able to roll over you extra level miles) I could maintain as Platinum member...from my point od view this is huge and very customer friendly !

Guess that'll make us a bunch of whiners in the eyes of FB management...

Btw, you mention UE (Union Européenne I guess?). This is a bit limmiting, I think the award results apply to the whole of Europe including non EU countries.

I agree for (not earning but redeeming) promotions (Promo Awards)
I mostly agree for redemption ability.

I do not agree for best affinity credit card (poor value for the price), and definitely don't agree for best elite level (Platinum means not much with FB).

Le Club offers great customer service, but FB line is just terrible.

FB earned 5 Freddie awards ?

Just noticed this article yesterday in this month's Air France Magazine

FB has earned 5 Freddie awards in April

it's funny because when i read FFP blogs, FB is far from being considered as the best program....

It is STRICTLY forbidden to throw rotten tomatoes at undeserving award winners!
