Delta Plat - booking awards on FlyingBlue
I looked through the forum and did not find an answer to this, but if I just missed it, please direct me to it.
I am wanting to take advantage of the Amex transfer bonus because I need some one-ways to Europe and obviously, my boatload of Skymiles won't help with the one-ways. So, I am going to transfer a bulk of my Membership reward points this month.
Question: I am a Delta Platinum (well, Diamond until the end of the month) and would be traveling in the same reservation with non-elites. Do we all get the additional baggage allotment? Do I get any kind of preferred seating options? Also, I thought I saw that eiltes get better award availability - does that include someone like me? Do I get the option to waive the fee if I need to change the ticket? Thanks so much!

If you transfer MR points to Flying Blue, your Delta status will be meaningless to the extent that, as far as the Flying Blue programme and booking tool will be concerned, you will just be an Ivory (non-status) member, and will not have enhanced award availability. (Availability tends to be quite good in FB anyway, it certainly seems to be far better than in SkyMiles, so this shouldn't be of particular concern). Of course, you could claim any SkyTeam Elite benefits when travelling by virtue of your Delta status.
To the best of my knowledge, your Delta status would not result in any enhanced luggage allowance for non-elites travelling with you. Your questions as regards the benefits extended to Delta elites travelling on AF/KL can perhaps be better answered in the Delta forum or on the Delta website.
You will not have the option to waive fees associated with changing/cancelling bookings - Flying Blue does not waive these fees for anyone, even its own elites.
You might also find that booking award flights in Flying Blue will cost you far more in taxes and fees that you are used to paying in SkyMiles. (Typically the case for European FFPs - taxes/charges are far higher).
To be honest, I think you are getting a bit too excited at the 25% transfer bonus and that your expectations of what you could do with your MR points once transferred into Flying Blue is too high.

You get the normal publicized ST Elite+ benefits. Lounge access +1, extra baggage allowance, priority baggage/ check in. And also free EC seating for statusholder intercontinental.
