Post Upgrades on Delta back

Newswire from ATL: Upgrades are coming back

I couldn't believe it myself and it is contrary to what we have seen/heard recently .... but it came from the horses mouth:

Comp upgrades for FB Elites are coming back in December!

Other news include that US-based FB Golds will become ST E+ in March 2011.

This is amazing! I wonder how FBS/FBG/FBP will be ranked vs. SM/GM/PM/DM ?

I just made a booking on DL for US domestic flights. I'm FB plat and my booking shows "Flying Blue Platinum Medallion / Elite Plus". So should be "aligned" on DL ?

Well, FB definitely doesn't have a Diamond level.

Maybe the remapping of FB Gold US members to Elite Plus has to do with the fact that Continental had mapped the Gold members to Star Gold and not to loose out FB have done the same.

if it is true it means that for once AF marketing did not lie that much. Comp upgrade have been removed when NW and Delta merged. the official reason at that time referred to technical issues.

Lets assumed that Delta have now resolved those technical issues (interfacing properly with FB I would guess) and that they are now again ready to provide this benefit

I am currently in Atlanta As I said ... the horses mouth ... all the way up the food chain ... and later on confirmed by the person who runs the medallion program.

I flew DL domestic a couple of days ago and my reservation had exactly the same reference. No upgrade, though.

Would indeed be great. A real improvement, for once. First want to see an official statement, though

FB Plat for Life

Just made FB Plat for Life this year and now am celebrating after reading about the DL UGs. Guess I don't have to do any MRs for status with DL anymore.
