ANTI CHURN CAMPAIGN 2009/10?? What is that?

ANTI CHURN CAMPAIGN 2009/10

I somehow got 12000 Miles just like that over night
From what I understand "Churn" refers to kind of "anti leaving air france/KLM campaign" so did anybody else get those massive mileage credits???

Never had such a case

Well nice surprise however

Very interesting

What is your "situation"? Close to a status threshold? A sudden drop in FB activity this year? Kept your loyalty? Are you in a country where other alliances are aggressively marketing their programs?

FlyinDutchman May 18, 2010 4:54 am

Didn't get it, would be nice though... Not flying much with ST anymore though...

bodory May 18, 2010 4:56 am

It is probably related to this : http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/flyin...-fly-away.html

So, if I understand correctly, the bonus miles posted in your account under the name "anti-churn campaign"???

If that is true (please note that I do not reappraise what you said), that is amazing. It is just like saying on the mileage summary : "Hey fools, we know our FFP s***s, but here some crumbs to satisfy you".

I would have expected them to simply post the bonus of this camapign under the name "let's fly away".

Xandrios May 18, 2010 7:05 am

We are not sure its actually for that campaign. To be honest, I doubt it. He would be the first to have received the bonus, and like you said...'anti churn' would be an incredibly dumb name to post those miles under.

The Lets Fly Away campaign is supposed to post at the end of the month, which it is not yet :)

According to moneyterms.co.uk: "Churn is the proportion of subscribers to a service who cancel it but are replaced by new subscribers over a given period of time. ... Churn is important as it is a measure of customer loyalty, and therefore how stable a company's subscription revenues are likely to be if sales growth flags."

Alternatively, "churn" could refer to making butter out of milk. :D

Therefore, anti-churn must mean the making of milk out of butter.

Perhaps this is the result when one complains about the on-board catering - I've witnessed many quizzical exchanges when fellow passengers request milk to accompany the tea/coffee they've just received, only to be told "it's in the packet" without any explanation that instead of milk they will find a sachet of "Creamer" provided.

I personally also find that one sachet of creamer is never enough. But then, the tea/coffee is usually only tepid, so I no longer order the hot beverages.

No I have not done any of the above
YTD: 7 Status flights
No complanints filed
No Promotion registration

Strange isnt ist

and this is waht it say in the account
"05/15/2010 ANTI CHURN CAMPAIGN 2009/10 4 500
05/15/2010 ANTI CHURN CAMPAIGN 2009/10 4 500
05/15/2010 ANTI CHURN CAMPAIGN 2009/10 3 000
"

Also got 4.500 miles as anti churn campaign in my account. As a FB Ivory Herbert Verschuren mailed me: Fly between 17/04/2010 and 15/07/2010 and receive bonusmiles:

4.500 after 2 flights, 3.000 for the next 2 and 3.000 for all other flights^

Having accumulated all of 935 level miles so far this year (all for lack of an alternative) I wish FB the very best of luck with their anti-churning campaign!

As a LTPE I don't need the level miles, and as it is my intention to use KL only for shorthaul flights when I have no realistic alternative, it will take years to accumulate a worthwhile stash of award miles, no matter which Skyteam program I credit them to.
