Hello I wanted to know if anyone knew how many of the 777 in the AF fleet have the new AVOD system with 80 on demand movies. I read that they were installing it on all the 777-300 sooner or later.
Thanks
I don't know how many but for sure the have started the retrofit of the old 777-300, as I was on a Flight recetly CDG-PEK and it was a 777 with a 3-3-3 Y configuration (so a good old one) and it had the new IFE.

Glad to hear! Do you know the registration of the 77W you took?
Most probably the info here would not help much, but on my CDG-SIN flight last March 24, I had the new AVOD. No reg for this plane (since it was night time, and I did not expect for this new AVOD).
My opinion, is that this is a great improvement. Flight path was the new 3-D version with some nice airport views during taxiing and landing. Movie selection was really great, though the system was a bit too slow in response. You need to get to know the system to find it easy to operate.
Overall, a great improvement for AF.
p.s: Return was on one with the old one even in F! But did not bother me much as I just wanted to sleep

Thats what I'm hoping for. So no one knows a real list for the IFE'd aircraft.
They have already started the upgarde of the 777-200 too, I was yesterday on the PVG-CDG 777-200 and we had the new IFE in Y.
However the seats are the same and the screen are the old tiny ones that are starting to get old and tired.
Overall I feel more and more that a lot of the 777-200 are starting to get old in the Y cabin many damage seats etc. on the other side I know that complaining too much about it will only result in a 3x4X3 config comming up sooner for those birds.
Does anyone know if the 777-200 used for the LAX-LHR-LAX segment has the new AVOD? Will be flying late Jun to LHR and return early Jul.
Thanks,
Emil
There's no way of telling. I flew it a few weeks ago, and despite being informed by a fellow FTer a few days beforehand that it was upgraded, in the end it wasn't.
Location: FCO for now, PEK this summer and BOS from Sep

It seems like they use an incoming aircraft from CDG to return to LHR. This way it's difficult to find out if they have the new IFE or not.

I think I know what you meant to say but it didn't actually come across that way. They don't fly the 772 CDG-LHR. The aircraft flies CDG-LAX-LHR-LAX-CDG
