Getting exit row seat with connecting flight
I will fly BRE-CDG and then CDG to PHL in eco. I have heard people were having problems to get seat assignments in Germany for ongoing flights, especially that exit row seats do not get assigned until CDG. Any experience if it is possible to get the exit row seat at the German airport (it is served by AF Regional, not AF). I understand for the way back it should be okay if I show up early. Right now i have the seat in the 4-seat row behind the 3-seat row exit middle row, so there should be some legroom, but exit row is much better (I was spoiled at ORY-FDF flights , but there we were very early at FDF and ORY to score the seats).

You can only be assigned an exit row seat on AF flights at the airport of departure of the flight. This is an AF security requirement. The agent assigning the seat must check that you are not physically impaired and are able to move on your own.

why can't see agent at the check in of the feeder flight do that? with lufthamse that is never a problem. I can understand that they dont assign those seats over the phone, but at check in - even if it is at a different airport?
Well, so best bet would be to ask at the gate or is there a special desk at CDG where I can go?
Last year I had 2 flights from STR via CDG to LAX and GRU.
STR-CDG-LAX : I asked for an exit seat but I couldn't get it in STR, so they promised me to send a fax to CDG. And it worked, in CDG I got a new boarding pass with an exit seat.
STR-CDG-GRU : I asked for an exit seat and I got one in STR !
