This means there will be a mix for some time of old and new config. And this is logical knowing that, for a certain period, they will have only one frame with the new P/J seat and one frame is not enough for a daily rotation to SIN/CGK.

I'm afraid you'll have the old seat

By applying simple mathmatics, what you say makes perfect sense.

It turns out that I'm able to reschedule to a flight with the new seat. Hoping it's worth it!

Here are some info released today on AF travel agent portal. For reference to current seat version of AF fleet per type, please see this post :
http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/23499618-post13.html

B777
The retrofit to BEST configuration concerns 44 out of 62 planes.

B772
the current 3 and 4 cabins config will all move to the single BEST config 40J 24W 216Y before end 2016 (4 planes before end 2014, 8 more before end 2015 and 13 more before end 2016). Overall 25 planes retrofitted before end 2016.

B77W
- COI version : as we could have expected, they will remain in NEV4
- current 4 cabins version : will all move to the BEST config 4P 58J 28W 206Y before end 2015 (3 planes before end 2014, 16 more before end 2015). Overall 19 planes retrofitted before end 2015.
- current 3 cabins configuration (42J 24W 315Y) : will all remain in NEV4. This is very surprising as I thought all 777 (except COI) would be retrofitted. I believe those are probably the "oldest" 77W delivered to AF but some B772 are older than those and will be retrofitted (see above). So pretty strange...

A388
All frames (n=10) to be retrofitted from beginning 2017.

A332
All frames (n=15) to be retrofitted from beginning 2017.

A343 and B747
As we already knew, no retrofit. Those planes will leave the fleet progressively in the coming months/years.

IMO, I would have liked this retrofit to be done more rapidly, although I understand the complexity. We are talking here of 4 years if there's no delay...

This is indeed a bit weird.

The "COI" version is also used on some other international non-COI routes, so that's no fun.
I do not know how many 3-cabins 77W there are but it is weird that they will remain with NEV. Not sure that they are all so old, I thought that they had received recent deliveries in that version.

Anyway the rule will be simple in 2017: NEW only on 77W with P or 772. But the risk of substitution of a 3-class 772 by a 3-class 77W will exist; or a 77W with P by a 77W without P. Bad.

Indeed. Some 77W flying to FDF, PTP and RUN from ORY sometimes go from CDG to YUL, BKK, LIM, DKR and even BEY (such as AF562 on the 7th of Sept recently).

I see a big mess coming the next years

DKR and BEY are just incidental last minute substitutions, while BKK and LIM are permanently served by the COI config (and YUL for one of the flights during the peak summer period).

Long-haul fleet until the end of 2016
Comparative & photos of the different versions equipped BEST Business Destinations until end March 2015
Long-haul fleet from 2017

(In 2017, the Business V2 and V3 ** seats will have disappeared (** except for the 6 first A380)

in BEST Business cabin, windows seats are only accessible to Elite + passengers and to booking classes J, C and D (i.e not to Z fares...)

Thank you for the interesting information.

The sad news is the confirmation that horrible NEV2 (introduced in 2003) still exist on 777W and 772 and will only disappear by 2017.
Even NEV3 will still be there on 6 out of 9 A380 (I know that Orbitmic prefers NEV3 over NEV4 but it is really bad in sleeping mode, although much better in seating mode).

I guess the NEV2-equipped aircrafts will be treated in priority, so NEV 2should disappear before 2017. At least let's hope

Yes, as NEV3 finished on end of 2015 for 777-300 and end of 2016 for 777-200

Inded.

BTW, the picture given for NEV3, called V3 above looks to be NEV4, the latest version with restricted personal space and fixed footrest. V2 is a picture of NEV2 with fixed arm rest. My guess is that AF used the wrong picture for NEV3.
