It's back ....
Search feature is down, otherwise I would bring up the original thread. See discussion in MR Forum.
$52 for one way Tango Plus fare:
YUL-DFW
YYC-DFW
YVR-DFW
Strangely the YVR-DFW is only bringing up Star Alliance flights on the AC website. Last time you had the option of routing YVR-YYZ-DFW which was a marvelous MR!

AC site is showing the occasional YVR-YYZ-DFW & return through YYZ for the $52 price - depends on dates, I guess.
So that means margarita girl pulls into the lead! 6 x YVR-YYZ-DFW RT = 39400 miles => *E for <$1400AI!! Can anyone do better than that?
To 01/19 YVR-EZE is C$1175AI (if you can get the cheap tix)
I got it even cheaper.
That current (good until tomorrow) fare is $770 return YVR-EZE so I jumped on it.
Only one available in this time period but I'm looking at a second one that might be just too much.

Mileage run to SYD
There's some very good fares right now to SYD on UA. Check out the MR Forum.
I've found LAX-HNL-SYD-YYZ (will need a positioning flight) for $727 or BUF-LAX-SYD-SFO-YYZ (will need a bus/train ride to BUF) for $708. Fare expires tonight. Still debating whether to pull the trigger on one of these. Going to Oz in economy might be too much to bear.
While I'm thankful to margarita girl for all those routes through places like BUF-LAX, I'm really looking at trips I can take from YVR. It's really not cost effective to fly or drive anywhere else, even SEA.
Got in my first trip last week.
YVR-YYZ-EZE-YYZ-YVR for $770 return plus taxes and surcharges etc. etc.
Wow! Those "charges" came out to 45% of the "special" fare making the total about $1116. That's still pretty good when the same "specials" are offering HAV (a 3.5h flight) for $1036 return!
Now the decision : another RT to EZE or a shorter (cheaper) flight to Beijing?
I'm sorting out the turn-around for China. The connection at EZE was perfect -I had enough time to hit town for dinner before heading back.
. So thought I would apply a 5% discount for broken IFE.
Nowhere does it say that this 5% discount is not applicable on sale fares!
They tried to give me one of this 5% discounts. I objected, telling them
it was an insult to give a $15-20 discount for non-functioning IFE on a paid J class Intl flight.
So they threw in a $150 MCO, as well as leaving me the discount code.
Don't always take what they first offer.

Thanks for the tips people!
I'm on another RT per the original suggestion by jeffjfj and due to the reduction in fuel surcharges, the total tax-in price is down to $995.
Another plus is that the routing is YVR-YUL-YYZ-EZE-YYZ-YVR so I get a few more miles.
The latest "specials" didn't have much on offer for the miles I still have to fly but there was a convenient YVR-YYZ-BOS-YUL-YVR loop with a $164 base price that expired on Feb 12 that was too good to pass up. It lets me sleep all night heading east, then the between flights timing is good for breakfast, lunch and dinner if needed since they don't feed you for free on these domestic legs.
Commander Bob
Almost there.
