Ouch, and I was holding off booking to Europe for over a month now in hope for better AC fares.
Ouch from me as well. In fact it was the number of e-mails from AC that got me thinking about this but I was out of the country all of Nov and part of Dec so missed the details.
There should be reductions due to the "recession" but all they were offering me yesterday was $240 one way to YYZ and NO European destinations. Poooh.

What about today/tomorrow's fares?
Each way fares based on a roundtrip purchase:
............................Current low fare: .......Today's fare**:
Toronto - Hong Kong ...........$449.............. $337
Vancouver - Hong Kong ........$449.............. $337
Toronto - Beijing .................$440 ...............$330
Vancouver - Beijing ..............$305 ...............$229
Toronto - Shanghai ..............$440 ................$330
Vancouver - Shanghai ...........$305................ $229
Montreal - London ................$209................ $157
Toronto - London .................$209................ $157
Calgary - London ..................$338 ...............$254
Toronto - Frankfurt ...............$315 ...............$236
Calgary - Frankfurt ................$415 ................$311
Montreal - Paris ....................$349 ................$262
Toronto - Paris .....................$349................ $262
Toronto - Zurich ...................$457 ................$343
Montreal - Rome ...................$352................ $264
Toronto - Rome.................... $352 ................$264
Toronto to Hong Kong for $883 all in on an upgradeable fare seems pretty reasonable!

I was away at that time too but it never hurts to check FT regularly if you have access to the internet. Around that time there was the YVR to Egypt for $190++ for the spring, albeit not all on AC, and there was the YVR ORD DFW YYZ/YUL and many variations for $59 (and some variations) each way in Tango Plus which were good for flights right into the spring. Even when I am away I still keep checking, in case I come across something I can use when I get back. Sometimes it is not the greatest deal as a pure mileage run but if I have never been there before I'll go check the place out.
I do check the AC site for deals too but there are some eagle eyes around here like MG and SH who point out good deals when they find them, like $883 to HKG, thanks MG.
I find a lot of value in this thread as I've also found it hard to find AC-specific MRs on the other forums. Hopefully others will keep posting to this as good deals applicable to AC surface during the year. I for one will need some help to maintain E status this year.

Just found some old e-mails from late Nov. Back then, the sale price for YYZ-HKG for Leisure fare was $1253 all in, so this is a VERY GOOD DEAL!
I thought Munich was MUC, and I figured it was just a typo by SH. Do FT'ers use MUN as a short form for Munich?
Yes, it was a typo. The point was that all major German cities were available for this low fare at this time last year on UA and LH. However, the LH sale that I anticipated, and which started today, is not as generous and now you're looking at about C$850 ex-LAX.

Maybe not MR material, but I see AC has one way fares from YYZ-LAS (direct flight only) for $99! So you can do a same day round trip for C$308 for 3,878 miles.
US Air has a similar deal for US$86 one way or US$224 round trip.

I had not seen those and they are good prices but Toronto flights are no good to me because of the cost to get there and upgrades are not possible because I no longer have status.
I'm checking those Asian connections because the prices have been going down and the legs are long. Also must be careful of conditions. The new Flight Pass that looks so cheap offers NO Aeroplan miles.
