I am considering purchasing a two traveler pass, naming an employee as the second traveler and then having my wife purchase a two traveler pass, naming me as the second traveler.
I could then use domestic/transborder credits from my pass for myself and an employee, and I could also use domestic/transborder credits from my wife's pass.
According to the T&Cs and to the AC rep I spoke to, the int'l bonus can be used by the pass holder and anyone else - not necessarily the second traveler. This means I should be able to use 2 of my 4 international credits for my wife, and 2 for me. She could then use 2 of hers for herself and two for me. (So, for anyone wondering, when it says the international bonus can be used for yourself and anyone you want, apparently it does mean anyone - it isn't restricted to the second traveler.)
By doing this, I can use up to 16 of the 16 flight credits, an employee could use up to 8 and my wife could use up to 8. My wife and I can then each take two return trips to the int'l destinations as part of the bonus.
Can anyone see a problem with this? Does the AC flight pass system have a problem with me buying a flight pass, and at the same time being a second traveler on another flight pass? (I've learned never to assume anything when it comes to technology & AC!)
I doubt I'll retain E status for next year anyway, so the lack of status miles on the pass doesn't bother me too much.
Where does it say in the terms and conditions that the bonus pass would not accumulate any aeroplan miles? It's interesting because you still get 25% non-status miles for the pass segments themselves.

It is stated in the T&Cs when you go to purchase the bonus flight pass - after you have purchased the escape flight pass.
I posted back on the third page the T&Cs from when I bought it.
However - it also states you can upgrade with a SSWU on the bonus pass where you can't upgrade the escape pass in k class.
This last sentence caught my attention. Odd that the A fare does not get Aeroplan miles. Was considering it only for the bonus pass as the Tango fares for US were not that good, but $199 to HK is not bad. But if there are no miles, my mileage whore side is screaming foul!
US Airways says you can gather mileage on A class fares with AC flights
This was my 'angle' -- apply it to another carrier, but its how AC feels about awarding A fares miles (or not, in this case). Typically, A should get miles under Aeroplan, so not sure if they would say, nope not eligible, read the fine print.......meaning they apply it to all carriers.

Are Airmiles bookings a precedence?
Maybe the A class tickets are non-upgradeable, and non status-earning as is the case with airmiles bookings (also booked in A-class).
According to AY in this thread, airmiles tickets booked into A class can not be upgraded, regardless of status.
AY also gives more information regarding status miles in post 6 of this thread.
The AC system can apparently differentiate between the different types of A-class ticket. I don't think you'll be able to credit to a different FF program because of this.
Is it possible to check that flights are available YVR->LHR that can be used for this pass on particular dates before buying the pass?
I am not really interested in the domestic flights (although I might take them) and thus would be rather annoyed to buy the pass and then find out that I couldn't get to London

The lack of states miles and upgradable fares render the pass useless for most on this board. I'm not sure who AC is hoping to attract here: Tangoers like myself or even worse the VBITs?
Agree, makes no sense? The fact its' a pass suggests some sort of frequent flying. Anyone I know that flies frequently is in Aeroplan and looking for miles. This pass looks good on the surface but the restrictions, lack of status miles and lack of upgradability make it unattractive to most, I would suggest.

You might be right about that, but I expect that it really depends on your travel patterns and destinations about whether it is attractive or not. In my case, I have a couple of leisure trips that I always take during the period of the pass that definitely make the pass a better deal (by several hundred dollars) than buying Tango fares separately. As I wouldn't be getting status miles for those trips anyway the pass's conditions make no difference to me. The add-on flight (I'll LHR or CDG) is such a good deal that I wouldn't expect miles for that (though it would be nice), and if indeed one can use SSWU's on that trip I will try to upgrade. Executive class for $199 to LHR?? What is there to complain about. I will take the add-on flight as a long weekend getaway.
I don't see too many people taking advantage of this for business purposes, which I surely will not do either. I wonder how many FTers will buy this just to get a few extra fun trips in for cheap?
