Upgrade sponsor thread
Well, it is the time of the year when there are surplus of certificates and nothing to do with them. So here is thread so that we can start offering some upgrade sponsor.
I have a YUL-YYZ-HKG on Feb 3rd that I can offer both SSWU and SWU for those who are flying to Asia for Chinese New Year.
I'm a prestige. Will I be able to use a SSWU? I'll be flying YVR - HKG in April.
These nice people are offering to upgrade a "companion"--the certificates aren't transferable. Also, the certificates they're offering expire at the end of February 2008. But to answer your original question, Prestige members can't use SSWUs.
If anyone is travelling YVR-ICN mid-December, I might be able to upgrade you.

As a prestige, you can't get SSWU's in your name at all. Now if you have an E or SE friend who's willing to sponsor you on their own SSWU, that's a different story of course.

Hi, headin - YUL/LHR tomo.

I have a SWU to offer for this trip. Currently the flight is J9 C9 Z4, I myself do not have and upgrade as yet but the odds are good and I guess look good for another.

Ditto.
And thank you aaac for starting this thread. I had the exact same thought as I was trying to give advice to someone on the MR Discussion forum about trying to upgrade a YYZ-MUC flight.
Would it make sense to have a separate spreadsheet for those looking for sponsors?
Does anyone know what the limit is on how many people can you upgrade on a single flight as an SE? Is it limited to just 1, or could you upgrade, for example, a couple or more if you have enough certificates?
