You are right MG- upgrades are scarcer- was just on YYZ-SFO last night and Executive was jammed- first time in a long time I have seen this flight so full in Executive. I think if he waits to the gate to find someone, it may be too late.

You're right SH. I forgot about that.

I think more elites now know about the "summer amnesty" than we thought. What this move should also do is make life easier for gate agents who generally have to do opups of SEs, Es and PS when the back is overbooked, which on some key transcon routes is every flight during the summer. All we elites are now able to confirm our upgrades days out which thus relieves a few overbooked back cabin seats and makes less seats in J open for other passengers to be opup'd into.

As for me, I'm a pod person this afternoon, heading off to YVR in a few minutes on a nice XM'd 333, grace AC's new attitude!

Hi everyone,

Having been absent for years, I'm returning to AC (economy). This weekend I have a U ticket, returning on an M ticket.

I remember the M/06, is that what an M ticket is? What about a U ticket?

Are these things upgradeable at all?

Both would be upgradeable at time of booking/purchase by an elite with SWU certs. You'd need to find an elite on each flight willing to give you a cert and be your sponsor. Alternatively, if you booked through a real live travel agent, they might have some courtesy SWUs that are often made available to high volume TAs by AC for their better customers.

AC15 YYZ-HKG Jul 29

Flying AC15 YYZ-HKG Jul 29. It might be a bit late for this now, but I'm just wondering if any SE could sponsor an upgrade. I'm E with my own SSWU.

TIA.

If you're Elite, can't you call in today? As a matter of fact, you could have called 12 hrs ago. What am I missing?

And welcome to FT 9.9. Interesting handle ...

First, a reminder that http://acupgrades.wikispaces.com/ exists and is a great place to post the regular upgrade sponsor requests. Complex ones are hard to

Second, I'll do the opposite and post mine here too! Can anyone assist?

AC1 YYZ-NRT Sept4: 4 travellers (I'm E but others are Plain Flavour).
I have no certs, but would love to help someone use up their SWUs in exchange for a thank you gift!

AC2 NRT-YYZ Sept10: 4 travellers again.
I have 3 SSWUs, and would love to help someone use up an SSWU (fat chance I know) in exchange for a thank you gift! An SE sponsor with no certs would be helpful too to get the 7day window.

Thanks in advance, even if nothing comes of it. But 15 hours is soooo loooong...

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but do you realize that SWUs can only be used to upgrade T+ fares in Canada and the US? Does not apply to international routes.

And I see that you've already realized that each status passenger may only upgrade one guest. YMMV.

SWUs are usuable on"travel on the Air Canada system wide network",Y-M-U fares.I have used them on international flights.

Sorry, I didn't mean to mislead. I was addressing Cam's specific request. In another thread she said she bought the NRT tickets for less than $800 each. I doubt these were Y, M, U fares. Since she was looking to upgrade her Sept 4 tickets with SWUs and her Sept 11 tickets with SSWUs, I assumed she was hoping to take advantage of the current summer promo where you can upgrade T+ fares with SWUs. That promo is for Canada and US travel only.

Sponsor request for EZE-SCL-EZE, no AC status

Hi,

My wife and I are doing EZE-SCL-EZE on DEC 25 to DEC 28. We don't have status on AC... would love to have someone sponsor us for J!

Fare Bucket Q if that matters.

Thanks

Oct. 1 - AC872 YYZ-FRA, Oct. 11 - AC873 FRA-YYZ

The US Air flights from my MR a few weeks ago haven't cleared yet, and the AP centre keeps pushing back the credit date every time I call.

I was counting on those putting me over 35K so I could get early Elite recognition and some SSWUs for this trip, but obviously the whole plan has fallen to pieces.

Any kind souls out there wanting to take pity on me?
