Further question.... AC1 shows sold out 0 in all classes except C, I, J and Z which all show 9 on seatcounter and an AC agent told me it was oversold in Y by 24. Would this likely mean a new E would get an op up and not have to use one of my two precious SSWU's

Hi, can a SE sponsor me on AC 16 on March 10? I have my own SSWU but would like to be confirmed within the 7-day window rather than the 4-day window.

Hi,

Will be travelling on following flights on U class and have confirmed I:

Mar 11 AC 15 YYZ-HKG
Apr 3 AC 16 HKG-YYZ

Have only SSWUs left available for the upgrade (which is perfectly fine) but wondering if anyone travelling on the same flights can make better use of the SSWU (I can sponsor) and use his/her SWU to sponsor me.

I will be on AC848 (YYZ-LHR) on March 11 and AC859 (LHR-YYZ) on March 16.

No status. Would need a SSWU. Expertflyer is showing plenty of "I" availability for both flights.

Hi,

I'm on AC092 YYZ-EZE on April 9, returning SCL-YYZ on April 26. I'm in S class both ways, so I believe I need a SSWU (I'm new, so someone please correct me if I'm wrong).

I'm an Aeroplan Nobody, so I don't have much to offer in return aside from $.

The odds of finding someone on that exact flight are so slight ... What about giving your friend the SWU, and let him ask around at the gate if a P, E or SE is willing to sponsor him? Of course, that assumes there are still biz class seats available. With the current summer promo on, upgrades may be scarcer. OTOH, a lot of people seem to be unaware of the promo.

Doesn't the traveling sponsor's name have to be on the cert used? You just can't give a non-elite one of your certs and expect to have it honored under the T&Cs.

Rumour has it that some are successfully using other's cert's with wild abandon ... so I guess people's mileage will vary. However, I agree that it is a risk and is it worth taking? Up to the person trying I guess... not my style
