Important Event Notes
  • Promo codes are not applicable to this event. Upgrades and AE redemptions are blocked by revenue management - you get what you pay for.
  • No hockey puck beef will be served! If it is, send it back! (Unless that's actually what you like, you weirdo?)
  • The Do website will be down for regularly scheduled maintenance. Often. But we won't bother to tell you in advance.

Important Event Notes (real ones this time!)
  • The burger and Scotch theme is purely optional. Those are the specialties of the restaurant, but you're free to have a salad and a diet Coke, fish and white wine or whatever floats your boat.
  • Buchanan's does weekly tasting flights for a slightly reduced price. We'll have access to a few of these from recent weeks for anyone who's interested.
  • The Do host has not achieved Dorian's level of wealth and generosity. No T-shirts or other swag will be provided.
  • Reservation is under Adam Smith, but that shouldn't really be necessary. We will be taking up most of the main dining room, to the left after walking into the restaurant.

Flight and Dates:
ScGhost0:

Whoa whoa whoa

Whoa.

Like. whoa.

According to the RCHHMP in this forum it's 5.38564 feet away. Anything less and it's the end of the world. Anything equal to or over this distance is acceptable.

If you don't work at the airport, I dont believe you.

Or you can get backed by the CBC. Then I'll believe you too.

Love the idea of discounted whiskey flights. LOL!
Pfff. My oldest's first Do was at 5mo, it even had a party on a plane.

Very reasonable price... assuming it's not a bunch of 10-y.o. non-peaty single malts or JW Red.

(I'm generalizing, but yeah close enough )

In Buchanan's I trust!

Ok fine. I'll bring the underage comfort horse to Bukanan's and then sue them for allowing the underage equine near alcohol. It's called BukanansEntrapment.

I am looking forward to the whiskey flights!

Will do. My +1 will be happy for more +1s

Also look forward to hearing about SMD8. We did 7 last year but passed this year.

No. The Do tariffs have been revised. No horses permitted.

Where's the problem? Buchanan's has cakes for dessert. And the wife can have some whisky. Or a Chardonnay or whatever

I got shipped out to LAX yesterday last minute. Booked my return back To YYC via YVR for tonight. Inbound delay. Had 30 minutes to get to connection, I was the first one off. I tell agent to page the gate as I don't have bags, have nexus and I'all do some fat burning cardio. Get pushed through security, sprint to gate 10 minutes before departure and flight is gone already no one at gate....

Wait 30 minutes at gate. Agent finally shows up. Tells me they closed doors at 10 to and caught him flat out lying as I was there 10 to and plane was already gone. I ask to see the flight records(I know they have to log when they push back) and sure enough he lied. He says sorry and prints out a $15 meal voucher and rebooks me in a middle seat in the back downgrade with 5 seats up front available.... lol. Also said no one paged gate and would have held if they did.

Not a huge deal but annoyed at the lie. Stress eating some Carl's jr with the meal voucher but I'll be staying home in YVR and fly to YYC tomorrow AM instead.

And wow I found out I'm super out of shape because of this 😂😂😂

Glad it worked out kind of?

GA lying is rampant. I know of several stories from fellow E50Ks and S100Ks where the GA is flat out lying and often called out with legitimate proof.

I find that the worst pool of employees aside from the call center, are gate agents. Having said that, YVR I find to have mostly really good GAs.

The GA was nice enough to give you a crappy seat with better seats in front of you. According to the RCHHMP here, you should be so lucky and be thankful and stop whining.

Yes, some passengers don't even get a view of those seats.

When I started reading this, I thought it was leading up to you not being able to make it tonight, but glad to hear that despite the difficulties and poor AC customer service, you'll be here after all

Yes, remember what a miracle it is to be flying through the air in a metal tube! He should have even been happy if he had been thrown in the cargo hold, because AC would have gotten him to destination!

Four of us are on standby for 234. That could mean a much longer pre-do MLL do in YYC if we make it.

It'll be tough though.

234 is YVR YEG?

Then you're doing YEG YYC?
