The Star Alliance upgrades are only for 1 leg - no connections.
So you can only upgrade YUL-IST for one redemption, and IST-CPT for another
redemption. As long as I space is available, the upgrade should go through.
You can only do this on line with AE.

I'm fine with that - 55,000 is a bargain for 20 hours of flying - but I haven't been able to confirm anywhere whether Turkish pull this availability from I space, J space or other?

Don't hold your breath on this.
BTW 55,000 each way is just the same as an I Aeroplan ticket. Most likely a lousy proposition in the first place.

I've done it from Y-J on SQ before but only on their A330
As mentioned before, it is hit or miss. As for the 55,000 miles, that value is up to you, really
Depends on how many you have and plan on using.
All that said, if B is considerably higher than a standard fare, you are gambling with money you can get the upgrade at all

If this pulled from J space, I'd take a buyout from the client and confirm an upgrade, but it sounds like I'm better off going for a cash PE ticket on another airline.
