YYZ-CMH $2400 round trip. Any other crazy fares like this ?

Looking at YYZ-CMH rtn 28 Feb-01 Mar. $2448 for all AC direct flights for any time of day. Y=9. 1.15 min flight time. Other than flying to some remote northern communities this has got to be a crazy price for a 1hr flight in flex when there is a lot of space. Yes, I know AC can charge what they want as this is the only direct flights. But when Y=9 what is the logic as all it made me do is book a connecting flight. I would pay more for direct on AC but $2448 is crazy. Is rev mgmt not looking carefully at pricing ?
Any other examples ?

YYZ-ROC, same dates, Flex RT $2,036. A bargain!

This isn't uncommon for direct flights to the eastern USA on shorter notice, though those are some of the highest priced examples I've seen. There's often reward seat availability that works out to a much better value.

Not looking at possible "Last Minute" Aeroplan offers.....

Just plain rates and prices:

AC direct flight does not show up on vernonc's dates. So options are UA "F" with one stop for 50,000 miles and approx $77

Or, AC connecting to UA, (you may need to use IKK), 50,000 plus $146

I didn't say it was available in this case, but I have saved silly amounts on last-minute transborder flights by booking via AE. Ultimately it depends on rev management. YMMV

And yes, so have I.
I just posted what I saw for comparison purposes.

YYZ-CMH has always been crazy expensive, and I'm not really sure why.

I used to go there frequently, and I often ended up flying to CIN instead and then driving to CMH. It's about a 2 hour drive, and the flight is half the price ... right now you can get a RT for your dates, for $1068 (which is still a lot for such a short distance, but it's cheaper than the CMH direct).

Thanks good suggestion. It is on work so I do not plan to use my AE miles. For $2400 I might be able to rustle up a friend to fly me there on a crop duster.
Just rather bizarre for all flights to be that price when Y=9. Anyway booked a one stop on another carrier.

Even better - drive to BUF and pick a round-trip for approx $750 from there.

Dunno about YYZ but around here you could probably charter a helicopter for the round-trip for around $4000.
