MEX is rouged. Found discussion on http://www.airliners.net/forum/viewt...1219#p19371219

(in the past few months I have booked my own intra-mexico flights to MEX just to avoid AcRouge. Not anymore I guess.)

Rouging of MEX confirmed:

http://www.routesonline.com/news/38/...-rouge-in-s17/

Air Canada in summer 2017 season is gradually transferring service to Mexico City to rouge, initially with Toronto from 01MAY17, followed by Vancouver from 01JUN17. These service adjustments will be permanent.

eff 01MAY17 Toronto – Mexico City
AC1980 YYZ0800 – 1145MEX 319 D
AC1982 YYZ1655 – 2040MEX 319 D

AC1981 MEX1240 – 1815YYZ 319 D
AC1983 MEX2355 – 0530+1YYZ 319 D

eff 01JUN17 Vancouver – Mexico City
AC1984 YVR1430 – 2155MEX 319 D
AC1985 MEX0615 – 1000YVR 319 D

Montreal – Mexico City service is already operated by rouge, with A319 aircraft. Peak season schedule will see up to 6 weekly flights, from 27JUN17 to 05SEP17.
Meanwhile Aeromexico is increasing service to both YYZ and YVR - and has a superior Y product to mainline AC, let alone Rouge.

To all those of you who like to dismiss the comments of crew, or saying that they are guessing changes and routes, or that they hear or make up rumours but don't really know what's going on......

......PERHAPS

So there you have it boys and girls, listen when your crews speak to you. You may learn things you don't really want to know.

Only 2 pilots will have to be worked in. YYZ Pilots can be swap in/out in Mexico City.

Last year they used a 763 for that route in April. on time performance went in to the toilet.

With a Rouge narrowbody replacing a mainline narrowbody, if you are sitting in the front cabin is Rouge really a substantial difference?
